Difference between industrial ups and commercial UPS Jun 29, 2022

.Industrial UPS power supply generally refers to the uninterruptible power supply applied to key equipment in power, petrochemical, metallurgy and other industries. Generally, phase controlled rectifier and high-frequency inverter technology are adopted, and the output is isolated from the mains, bypass and DC, and the mains is isolated from DC. The UPS used in the power market requires that the mains, bypass, DC and output are isolated, otherwise the user's DC system will not work normally. Commercial UPS is used in data centers or computer terminals in insurance, finance and other industries. Most of them use high-frequency rectification and high-frequency inverter technology. The mains power, bypass, DC and output are not isolated.

.Due to the poor service environment of general industrial UPS, there may be dust, high and low temperature, high altitude, humidity, salt fog, acid fog, bad power grid, bad load, bad electromagnetic interference and other special conditions on site, and the price is generally higher than that of commercial ups. The protection grade of industrial UPS is high, generally higher than IP31, while the protection grade of commercial UPS is not considered, generally lower than IP20.

.The industrial UPS power supply is enclosed with a cooling air duct, which is isolated from the electrical components to prevent dust from falling into the electrical components. All parts are treated with "Three Prevention". Commercial UPS power supply generally does not have special design for dust prevention, and parts generally do not have "Three Prevention" treatment.

.Important industrial loads are usually powered by dual power grids, so industrial UPS is designed as two-way AC power input (main AC power supply and standby AC power supply, also known as mains power and bypass), and the two-way power supply can be isolated from each other. The mains supply and bypass of commercial UPS cannot be isolated and can only come from the same power grid.

.For safety reasons, the output AC and battery pack of industrial UPS power supply are isolated from the power grid, and the user accidentally touches the connection of the output AC and battery pack, so there will be no electric shock; If the wiring of AC output and storage battery touches the chassis, it will not have any impact on the operation of industrial ups. The mains supply, battery pack, bypass and output of commercial ups are not isolated from the power grid, and the user accidentally touches the connection of output AC and battery pack, which will cause electric shock; If the wiring of AC output and storage battery touches the chassis, the operation of commercial UPS power supply will be affected, and the machine will explode in serious cases.

.The mains supply, bypass circuit and battery pack of industrial ups are isolated from the output, and the faults of mains supply circuit, bypass circuit and battery pack circuit (such as device damage, breakdown, ignition, short circuit, etc.) will not affect the load. The mains supply, bypass circuit and battery pack of commercial ups are not isolated from the output. The faults of mains supply circuit, bypass circuit and battery pack circuit (such as device damage, breakdown, ignition, short circuit, etc.) will directly affect the load, resulting in "one burning and one string burning" of ups and load.

.According to the needs of users, industrial UPS can be designed into three-phase input single-phase output, three-phase input three-phase output, single-phase input single-phase output and other modes. The commercial UPS power supply can only be designed in two ways: three-phase input, three-phase output and single-phase input, single-phase output.
